GSK Learning Lab

Building a Strong Digital Core to Power What's Next

Learning Lab

Join us for an insightful session on the imperative for companies to have strong digital core, and how that can drive innovation across their business. GSK has taken a multicloud approach and built its own best-in-class enterprise data platforms, Code Orange and Onyx. This session will explore how that strong foundation enabled the rapid development and deployment of GenAI tools and helps ensure GSK is ready for what’s next. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of GSK’s approach, the impact on driving innovation at scale and a chance to talk to the team.

Chris Smith

Chris has a passion for technology and data and how the combination of the two can make a difference within the world… GSK is perfect for this. Over the last decade with GSK, Chris has worked across a number of platforms across R&D with accountabilities including delivering the Chemistry Desktop tool suite, the delivery of Machine Learning platforms, starting a new security ecosystem around centralised policy-based Computational Governance to more intelligently govern data access and use, and finally brought that all together to lead Data Operations for a new cloud Data Platform for Research, called the Onyx Research Data Platform. Currently, his focus is building a high performing team of DevOps & Data Engineers to enable Data within R&D as well as providing technical leadership for externalisation and collaboration platforms and their integration into GSK’s wider ecosystem.
