Ian joined Auto Trader in 2017, having spent over 20 years in the automotive industry in senior global roles across the automotive ecosystem including both manufacturers and retailer groups. Currently, he heads up Auto Trader’s relationships with their most senior partners in retailers, manufacturers, lenders and media alike to ensure Auto Trader’s technology and expertise delivers value and revenue for partners in both the new and used car space. He is also on the Board of the Institute of the Motoring Industry, sits on the President’s Committee of the Automotive Leadership Network, and is a regular media commentator as well as being an active lobbyist for the policies required to ensure the electric transition is equitable and accessible.

I am a transformational R&D and Innovation Executive with 20+ years of global leadership experience across FMCG including Imperial Brands, Henkel, Danone, and Reckitt. My career spans Household, Health OTC-Medical devices, Food, and Personal Care categories, where I have consistently translated scientific expertise and consumer insight into market leading innovations with measurable commercial impact. Expertise in agile practices, digitalisation of R&D, consumer centric innovation, and visionary strategies for Health, Wellbeing and Sustainability. 

I have lived and led multicultural R&D teams in Italy, the US, the UK, South Africa, France, and Germany, inspiring them to deliver exceptional results in complex, fast paced environments.

Dr Waqaar Shah is a London-based GP and national clinical leader shaping the future of digitally enabled healthcare. He drives improvements in quality, outcomes, and patient pathways by blending frontline clinical expertise with innovation insights drawn from sectors such as Formula 1, banking, and advertising.

He serves as Chair of the NICE Type 2 Diabetes Guideline Committee and has previously led multiple high impact national guideline committees, including Long COVID and Macular Degeneration.

As an NHS Clinical Director, Dr Shah leads programmes on elective recovery, outpatient transformation, digital adoption, and the redesign of primary / secondary care interfaces, championing scalable solutions that improve efficiency and patient experience.

His work centres on safely and responsibly translating cutting edge technology into real-world health impact, in ways that deliver meaningful benefits for patients and clinicians, making him a key voice in the UK’s digital health transformation.
