The potential of AI is immense with GenAI specifically poised to contribute up to £120 billion per year to the UK’s economy over the next decade. Yet, many leaders face challenges in adoption, from bridging the skills gap to ensuring AI aligns with business goals.  

 Data is crucial for successful AI implementation. AI systems rely on precise data to make predictions, automate processes, and deliver insights. A broad and diverse data set also provides comprehensive insights for any business.  

 This session will explore AI and data through the perspectives of visionary leaders in financial services. Discover how they leverage AI, manage data, overcome adoption hurdles, and achieve real results. Crucially, learn how they are moving beyond internal productivity boosts to drive product innovation and enhance customer outcomes.

 Sue Daley, Director of Innovation and Technology, techuk 

Sue leads techUK's Technology and Innovation work.'' This includes work programmes on cloud, data protection, data analytics, AI, digital ethics, Digital Identity' and Internet of Things as well as emerging and transformative technologies and innovation policy. She has been recognised as one of the most influential people in UK tech by Computer Weekly's UKtech50 Longlist and in 2021 was inducted into the Computer Weekly Most Influential Women in UK Tech Hall of Fame. A'key influencer in driving forward the data agenda in the UK Sue is co-chair of the UK government's National Data Strategy Forum. As well as being recognised in the UK's Big Data 100 and the Global Top 100 Data Visionaries for 2020'Sue has also been shortlisted for the Milton Keynes Women Leaders Awards and was a judge for the Loebner Prize in AI. In addition to being a regular industry speaker on issues including AI ethics, data protection and cyber security, Sue was recently a judge for the UK Tech 50 and is a regular judge of the annual UK Cloud Awards.

Neil O’Connor, Chief Technology Officer, Experian Consumer Services

Neil O'Connor is the Chief Technology Officer at Experian Consumer Services, where he leads technological innovation and strategy, and is instrumental in delivering direct-to-consumer products and services for a FTSE 50 company. Prior to joining Experian, Neil has held technology leadership roles at various companies including Meta and Codat and was founder CTO at FinTech pioneers Oakbrook Finance and Koodoo. With his strong background in technology leadership, Neil has successfully implemented large-scale IT projects and built numerous next-generation products for the financial services industry. Neil is recognised for his expertise in building high-performing software teams and driving technological innovation in fast-paced environments. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and a mentor to aspiring technology leaders, and holds a degree in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield. 

Andrei Lebed, CEO and Co-Founder, Koodoo

Andrei Lebed
Andrei Lebed is the CEO and Co-founder of Koodoo, a company reshaping the future of mortgages. Andrei Lebed founded Koodoo back in 2019 with the vision of reimagining how people apply for mortgages in the UK. Now, Koodoo also pioneer the use of Gen AI in the industry. Andrei was educated at the University of Cambridge and prior to founding Koodoo worked in start-ups and management consulting for financial services and public sector clients. 
Andy has worked in financial services for over 25 years, with experience in a variety of senior roles in building societies, banking and consultancy. Andy worked in specialised treasury roles prior to risk management, Internal Audit and advisory roles. Andy’s recent focus has been on developing the Risk function, as part of the risk strategy refresh and he joined the ExCo in March 2021, following his appointment as risk director and subsequently became CRO in October 2022. Andy is Chair of the Models and Rating System Committee, and co-sponsor of the Gender Equality Forum.
