Dr Thomas Albrow-Owen

Tom is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Prospectral, a VC-backed start-up developing imaging hardware that could transform the next generation of computer vision; the branch of AI that processes images and video.
Prior to this, he was a researcher in nanophotonics and applied semiconductor physics at the University of Cambridge, where he held a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship, with funding from the Leverhulme and Isaac Newton Trusts to develop his own independent line of research into novel nano- and meta-materials for optical sensors.
He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge in semiconductor engineering, has over 2400 citations of his published work including articles in the journal 'Science', and was shortlisted for the UK Early Career Researcher of the Year 2020 in the Physical Sciences.
