With an Honours Degree in Applied Physics and additional qualifications in business management, Steve started his career at British Aerospace as a Flight Test Engineer. Moving into Business Development/Sales, Steve progressed to be a Business Development director with BAE Systems. In 2008 Steve moved to Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL) as Head of Business Development and Sales with responsibility for all SSTL's new business.

In 2015 Steve helped co-found a high resolution satellite imaging start-up, Earth-i, before returning to BAE SYSTEMS in 2017 as Chief of Staff and Campaign Director Typhoon.In February 2019 Steve took on the role of Vice President - Business Development and Sales for ICEYE, a New Space company focusing on radar satellite capability for customers around the world. Steve is now President of the satellite 'Missions' division. In December 2011 Steve was made a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
