Sir Anthony Seldon
Contemporary Historian and Educator
Sir Anthony Seldon is one of Britain’s leading contemporary historians, educationalists, commentators and political authors. He is currently the Founding Director of Wellington College Education, having been Vice Chancellor of the University of Buckingham, a transformative headteacher for 20 years at Brighton College and Wellington College. He is author and editor of 45+ books on contemporary history, including the last seven Prime Ministers. He has been Co-Founder and Director of the Institute of Contemporary British History; Co-Founder of Action for Happiness; honorary historical advisor to 10 Downing Street; UK’s Special Representative for Education to Saudi Arabia; Initiator and Deputy Chair of The Times Education Commission and Institute for Government's Commission of the Centre; member of the Government’s First World War Culture Committee; Director and Governor at the Royal Shakespeare Company; Chair of the National Archives Trust; Patron of several charities; Founder of the Via Sacra Western Front Walk; and Executive Producer of the film Journey’s End. Over many years any writing profits have gone to charity.
