Shruti Iyengar
Shruti Iyengar is an Investment Director at Future Planet Capital where she is the Investment Lead for Space-tech investments within the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund and an Investment Committee member on the Blue Ocean Fund.
Her space tech investments include companies delivering space domain awareness, inertial/space-based sensing and hyperspectral imaging-based insights. She currently sits on the Advisory Board of Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) based in Harwell.
She has spent the last 10 years working in the early-stage investment ecosystem and is a regular mentor/investment expert and judge on startup support programmes and evaluation committees such as the Fusion Bootcamp/Accelerator, UKSA Accelerator, ESA-BIC, and Tech Tour Space. She is a regular on various deep tech panels and juries including the Economist Summit, BVCA sessions, London Tech Week, SeedLegals Startup Awards, and Innovation Zero.
Prior to joining Future Planet Capital, she was an Investor with an early-stage climate tech fund, Sustainable Ventures, where she managed a portfolio of 36 companies and lead their 12 month-long Accelerator programme. Shruti began her career in Singapore where she worked with organizations across Southeast Asia including Governments and corporates, to build out their innovation programmes. She was involved with developing numerous incubator programmes for early-stage deep-tech companies across sectors such as manufacturing, environmental and water technology, and energy.
Shruti holds a dual degree in Mathematics and Economics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and is a Women's Merit Scholar from London Business School's Master's in Finance programme.
