Ryan Spillane
Ryan brings over a decade of experience building and scaling the commercial function in some of the best technology companies with a focus on culture, systems, and processes, including HubSpot where he played an early role in establishing and scaling the enterprise sales function prior to its $1b public offering. At Compass, Ryan evolved the go-to-market, lead generation, and referral channels to support a $400m annual new business target. In his most recent role there as the Head of Sales, leading a team of 90+ people, he was responsible for the strategy that delivered +50% YoY growth in four consecutive years contributing to the company's $7b IPO in 2021. 
As Techstars CRO, Ryan is responsible for driving the commercial functions that support Techstars Global Investment Strategy by way of Government, University, and Corporate Partnerships. He is acutely focused on bringing an equal distribution of opportunity to founders around the globe as a way to accelerate innovation. His team aligns with global innovation and economic development initiatives where Techstars can facilitate and execute on finding the next great innovators who are solving the problems faced by the world's largest entities.
Other ventures include, economic development work in Nicaragua (2008) focused on providing greater access to healthcare, education, and micro-financing. Leading a successful Series A fundraise for Boston Healthcare Startup, Virtudent (2018). Co-founding, Emerging Leaders Syndicate (2020) supporting emerging revenue leaders, mentoring early-stage startups, and investing.
