Professor Pinar Ozcan
Pinar Ozcan is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Director of the Oxford Entrepreneurship Centre at Saïd Business School. A leading global expert on fintech, digital platforms, and AI‑enabled business models, she specialises in how founders build and scale ventures in fast‑moving, highly regulated markets.
Pinar’s research and advisory work focus on startup ecosystems, platform strategy, and the role of emerging technologies in reshaping financial services and entrepreneurial opportunity. She has advised founders, scaleups, regulators, and major financial institutions worldwide, drawing on more than two decades of experience spanning Silicon Valley startups, European fintech innovators, and global boards.
Her expertise has led to advisory roles with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority and Financial Conduct Authority, the European Commission, OECD, and the Bank of England on fintech, data, and AI governance. She has been recognised by Poets & Quants’ Top 40 Professors Under 40, the Thinkers50 Radar list, Innovate Finance’s Women in Fintech Powerlist, and global bodies including the OECD’s Digital for SMEs Initiative and the World Economic Forum.
In addition to her academic leadership, Pinar brings industry experience from Siemens in Germany, and from her advisory work with founders, investment firms, and scaleups across the US and Europe.
