Professor Jun Wang, the founder and CEO of iCarbonX and a co-founder of BGI (Beijing Genomics Institute), is a pioneering scientist and entrepreneur in the life sciences. His groundbreaking contributions in genomics, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence have significantly reshaped the trajectory of life sciences and precision medicine. He has led major projects such as the 1000 Genomes Project, the Human Gut Microbiome Project, and the Cancer Genome Project, advancing research on complex diseases and global health initiatives. Professor Wang has published over 400 papers, with more than 100 appearing in prestigious journals such as Cell, Nature, Science, and The New England Journal of Medicine, and his work has been cited approximately 50,000 times. He has been recognized as a Highly Cited Scholar for multiple consecutive years and was named one of the "Top 10 People in Science" globally by Nature magazine in 2012. His accolades include the Macau Natural Science First Prize, Fortune magazine's "40 Under 40" global elite list, CNBC's "100 Most Influential People in the Next 25 Years," and national honors such as the National Outstanding Young Scientist Award and National Model Worker.

Through iCarbonX, Professor Wang has developed an innovative  silicon-based bio-polymer chip technology to build a world leading high-resolution system for analyzing multi-omic profiles. This novel technology platform offers a new research paradigm with significant benefits for life science, clinic applications, as well as precision medicine and drug development.
