Philip Lorenz leads a team at the forefront of genomics, deep learning, and bioinformatics, building the largest “Map of Life” ever assembled. He studied molecular biology and genetics at Oxford before shifting to genomics and AI, using transcriptomic data to discover new genes in the human genome. He has taught bioinformatics and worked in AI-driven drug discovery. Since the founding of Basecamp Research, he has focused on bioinformatics, deep learning, and knowledge graphs. Basecamp Research, with offices in London and Boston, has raised over $85 million to develop the largest commercial biodiscovery program.
