Peter VERHEIJEN serves as the Vice President of MILAHA 's Container Shipping Division, based in Qatar since October 2023, reporting directly to the Group CEO.

MILAHA, a Qatari conglomerate founded in 1957, specializes in various sectors including Maritime & Logistics, Offshore Marine, Marine Technical Services, Gas, and Petrochemicals.

With 25 years of experience in Transport & Logistics, Peter VERHEIJEN has a strong and dynamic expertise in Containerized & Roll On Roll Off Transportation. Over the past 11 years, he has held the position of Executive Director (Deputy CEO, and Vice President).

Holder of a Master's degree in science (MSc) of Logistics and Maritime Operations, having lived in 9 countries and speaking 6 languages fluently, his international background equips him to navigate the global transportation landscape adeptly, and has demonstrated interesting innovation skills.

He excels in regionalization and sustainability strategies, prioritizing dynamic operations and customer-centric approaches.

At MILAHA, Peter VERHEIJEN leads various activities such as Vessel Operations & Chartering, Product & Network, Pricing, Sales, Customer Care, Container Equipment Control, Accounts Receivable, Agencies, Process Excellence, Business Development, Shipping BI and Sustainability strategies.

Before joining MILAHA, Peter VERHEIJEN spent 23 years across Europe, Asia, and Latin America in Head Quarters or Regional Offices at CMA CGM Group, the world's 3rd largest Container Carrier and Top 5 Logistics company.

In his latest role as Vice President, he oversaw all Europe and Mediterranean Lines, managing a fleet of 120 Container Vessels with 350 port calls per week.

He played a key role in promoting nearshoring and regionalization trends by launching new shortsea lines and multimodal products, as well as implementing alternative fuel new building vessels in his shipping routes / trades. He was member of Steering Committee related to the building project of some Short sea eco vessels.

Between 2018-2020 , Peter VERHEIJEN was Deputy CEO and Board Member at MERCOSUL LINE (420 staff's) based in Brazil, CMA CGM Group subsidiary, acting as a specialist in Brazilian cabotage Transportation and a door-to-door Multimodal logistic solution provider in East Coast South America.

He was the Initiator of “Re-inventing Brazilian Cabotageâ€' program through Valued Added Services, accelerating truck cargo conversion (modal shift) aiming at a better sustainable transportation.

He participated actively in many Logistic Conferences to promote Cabotage aiming at increasing its share within Brazilian transport matrix.
