Established in 2017 by Prof. Yoav Shoham, Prof. Amnon Shashua, and Ori Goshen himself, AI21 was at the forefront of introducing Generative AI to the public. The company's valuation stands at $1.4 billion, with total capital raised reaching $336 million from prestigious investors including Intel, Nvidia, Google, Pitango, Walden Catalyst, Samsung Next funds, etc. AI21 Labs has an extensive portfolio of AI clients worldwide, including Fortune 100 companies, positioning itself as a leading player in the global information revolution. Notable among its achievements is the launch of the Wordtune platform, which garnered over ten million users and earned recognition as one of Google's preferred plugins. Before his role at AI21 Labs, Ori Goshen served in various positions. After graduating from the IDF's elite intelligence unit 8200, he co-founded Crowdx, a network analytics company that was acquired by Cellwize. Before that, Goshen held the position of product manager at Fring, where he spearheaded the development of the pioneering VoIP and messaging app for iPhone and Android devices.
