Nick Pickles is Chief Policy Officer at Tools for Humanity (TFH), a core contributor to the World Network – a network of real humans built on privacy-preserving proof of personhood and a globally inclusive financial infrastructure.

In his role, Nick leads global engagement with regulators, policymakers, and civil society to help shape responsible AI and digital identity policy. He was previously Vice President of Global Affairs at X (formerly Twitter), where he oversaw policy strategy and regulation across multiple regions.

Before joining X, Nick led a UK-based privacy-focused civil society organisation. He brings over fourteen years of experience in privacy, technology regulation, and geopolitics, and plays a key role in advancing TFH’s mission to build the infrastructure for a trustworthy AI future.

Nick holds a law degree from the University of Durham, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and sits on the board of BBC Media Action. He is also an internationally published photographer.
