He has established security functions from inception in central UK Government and previously created the first coordinated global cyber capability for the Financial Times, enabling secure digital publishing and commercial operations across multiple continents. Currently Chief Information Security Officer at the UK Department for Education, Martin shapes national-scale cyber strategy for the department and UK education sector, supporting sector-wide resilience through collaboration and practical, outcome-driven security. He specialises in measurable, investment-aligned cyber strategies that enable—rather than obstruct—modern digital delivery. A Global Top 100 CISO, Martin holds CISSP, GSTRT and CRISC certifications and regularly speaks on cyber strategy, resilience and digital risk at UK and international forums.
