Mamatha Maheshwarappa

Head of Research & Development, UK Space Agency
Dr Mamatha Maheshwarappa is the Head of Research & Development within the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) at the UK Space Agency. In this role, Mamatha is responsible for directing and overseeing the Office’s R&D activities, ensuring the delivery of robust technical evidence to support thought leadership across a range of national and international forums, including the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC) and the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS). She holds a PhD in Software Defined Radios for Multi-Satellite Communications from the University of Surrey, UK, and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Mamatha serves as Vice-Chair of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Space Systems Committee and is Co-Chair of the Women in Aerospace-Europe (WIA E) UK Regional Network.
