Kate Davies
Kate leads Ofcom’s strategy, research and market intelligence functions, as well as engagement with domestic and international policymakers. In her current role Kate is engaged on issues across the telecoms, media and tech sectors, working with counterparts across industry, regulators, civil society and government. Kate is a member of Ofcom’s executive leadership team and a senior adviser to the Board.
With nearly 20 years’ experience across different policy, strategy and leadership contexts, Kate has led on work at the intersection of strategy, policy and technology throughout her time at Ofcom, working as both Strategy Director and Public Policy Director prior to her current role. She led on the early development of the approach to online safety, including engagement with government and parliament throughout the legislative process, as well as the establishment of the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum. She continues to be an active member of the DRCF, working closely with the ICO, CMA and FCA.
Prior to joining Ofcom Kate worked in HMTreasury for six years in a range of Public Spending roles, with previous roles in government and civil society.
