Kamal Ahmed is one of Europe’s most prominent journalists whose career spans senior roles at BBC News, national newspapers and digital media. He held senior roles at The Guardian, The Observer and
The Telegraph before joining BBC News in 2014, as Business and Economics Editor, before becoming Editorial Director in 2018. 

He later co-founded a social-first publisher, The News Movement, and most recently was The Telegraph's Director of Audio, launching its hugely successful Daily T podcast. 

In November 2025 he was named Executive Editorial Director at Fortune, a role in which he leads the expansion of Fortune’s footprint across Europe through its website, print magazine, newsletters, events, and new video and audio content.

Kamal plays a central role interviewing some of the world’s leading C-Suite executives, moderating the Fortune panels and dinner, and chairing high-profile conversations exploring the future of business, technology, and breakthrough innovations in Europe.
