Julia Shaptala is the CEO and co-founder of WebSpellChecker, the company behind WProofreader. She has led the company for a decade, growing it from a small Kharkiv-based team into a profitable, bootstrapped business serving enterprise and regulated industries across the UK, Europe, and North America.

Under her leadership, WebSpellChecker has continued shipping through four years of wartime in Ukraine without missing a release, expanded into in-house AI model development, and built a distributed team of specialists working across Ukraine and Europe. Julia's focus has been on building technology that meets the data sovereignty and compliance requirements of regulated sectors, a positioning that has shaped the company's product direction and client base.

Originally from Kharkiv, Julia holds a Master's in Technology Management and now splits her time between Kraków and Valencia.
