Julia Reinaud
Julia Reinaud is Senior Director at Breakthrough Energy, where she leads initiatives to accelerate and scale clean energy innovation across Europe and elsewhere since 2018. She has established major partnerships with the European Commission and the European Investment Bank, namely the Breakthrough Energy Ventures–Europe fund, and supported FOAK commercialization of innovators such as Rondo Energy, INERATEC, and Energy Dome.
After starting her career at the International Energy Agency working on carbon markets, trade and competitiveness, Julia took an entrepreneurial path. She founded and led the Institute for Industrial Productivity (IIP), funded by the ClimateWorks Foundation, to advance industrial energy efficiency in China, India, the U.S., and Europe, and later created and co-led the Industrial Innovation for Competitiveness (i24c) program at the European Climate Foundation.
She holds a Ph.D. from Université Paris-Dauphine and serves on the Mission Possible Partnership Board and Mission Innovation Technical Advisory Group
