Jed Griffiths is Chief Digital Officer for Microsoft UK & Ireland, where he works with senior business leaders, boards and regulators to shape long‑term digital, data and AI transformation strategies across the UK economy.

Jed’s role focuses on helping large enterprises move beyond experimentation to sustained, responsible adoption of cloud and AI — particularly in complex, highly regulated and risk‑aware environments. He regularly advises C‑suite teams on operating‑model change, innovation, governance, and the practical realities of deploying AI at scale, including security, resilience and cultural change and adoption. His work spans sectors including financial services, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing and professional services, and often involves convening cross‑industry leaders to explore shared challenges and new models of collaboration.

Before joining Microsoft, Jed spent nearly two decades working across science, engineering and national security, including roles spanning R&D, manufacturing and process optimisation, nuclear policy and arms control, and large‑scale organisational change programmes. This background informs his pragmatic, risk‑literate approach to technology adoption and his focus on trust, assurance and human‑centred innovation.

A Chartered Physicist, Jed is Chair of the Institute of Physics’ Business Innovation and Growth Group, where he supports physics‑based businesses and deep‑tech start‑ups, and advises on the role of science, innovation and AI in driving long‑term economic growth. He is a regular speaker at executive forums and industry events, known for translating complex technological change into clear strategic choices for senior leaders.
