Gorden Pretorius is the Chief Technology Officer at Checkatrade, where he leads the company's technology and engineering strategy, driving innovation and harnessing AI to scale the UK's most trusted trade directory.

Originally from South Africa, Gorden brings over 20 years of experience in technology leadership across global digital and product-led businesses. Before joining Checkatrade, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Typeform, where he led a major platform modernisation and drove the company's AI innovation agenda. Prior to that, he was VP of Engineering at Moonpig, helping to scale its technology through a period of rapid growth and IPO, and previously held senior engineering leadership roles at Just Eat.

Gorden holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (Software Engineering) from the University of Pretoria and an MBA from the University of Liverpool. Passionate about artificial intelligence and its potential to transform user experiences, he is dedicated to building high-performing, forward-thinking technology teams.

Based in Barcelona with his wife, three young children, and a lively flock of chickens, Gorden balances his love of AI with family life and sunshine.
