Matthew Addai is the co-founder and CEO of Cashblack. After a sabbatical following his last role as a senior trader for a hedge fund, the finance MSc. graduate embarked on a period of independent study at the start of 2020 to discover a potential entrepreneurial path for himself. His research, combined with that year's global anti-racism movement, helped him determine a direct correlation between the lack of support for Black-owned businesses and socio-economic issues experienced by the Black population concluding that the best way to rectify these issues would be a platform to incentivise patronage of these business while reinvesting into the patrons. This resulted in him and his brothers forming Cashblack - where members who shop online with Black-owned retailers are rewarded with cashback that they can withdraw for themselves or donate to Cashblack's affiliated goodwill causes where donations are aimed to be matched. With partnerships with Etsy, Deliveroo and Uber Eats to name a few as well as hundreds of Black-owned retailers onboard, Cashblack will be launching in Black History Month 2022 to support your support of Black-owned businesses.
