Eyal Itskovits is a Director of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at GSK, where he leads the Flagship AI Scientist project—a high-visibility initiative with direct engagement with GSK's global Leadership Team and Board. His work focuses on designing generative AI-driven hypothesis generation engines to accelerate scientific discovery across the pharmaceutical pipeline. Prior to this role, he led a team of PhD-level researchers developing machine learning models for biological perturbation prediction and biomarker discovery in oncology, combining deep learning expertise with cancer biology to predict cancer-type-specific responses to genetic perturbations. Eyal holds a PhD in Computer Science and Computational Biology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where his doctoral research focused on neural encoding and compact neural networks. He has written and co-written numerous publications in computational neuroscience, systems biology, and machine learning, and has served as a reviewer for top-tier machine learning conferences and drug discovery workshops.
