Dr. Simon Kohl is a computer scientist and AI researcher who founded Latent Labs, a frontier AI lab enabling biotech and pharmaceutical companies to generate proteins and therapeutics through advanced machine learning.
Simon previously started and co-led DeepMind's protein design team and was a senior research scientist on the Nobel Prize-winning AlphaFold2 project.
Just months after announcing a $50million funding round co-lead by Radical Ventures and Sofinnova Partners, and releasing Latent-X, the team released Latent-X2, a breakthrough AI model for designing high-affinity antibodies with drug-like properties from the first generation.
