Douglas Paul OBE FRSE FREng is Professor of Semiconductor Devices at the University of Glasgow and holds a Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies. He leads the UK Hub for Quantum Enabled Position, Navigation and Timing, one of the five Hubs in the UK National Quantum Technology Programme. His research includes single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) photodetectors, developing optical atomic clocks and quantum sensors using photonic integrated circuits and MEMS gravimetry. He is the founder of the company Quantrologee commercialising MEMS gravimeters and quantum sensors, a Senior Advisor to Serendipity Capital and an advisor to the board of IonQ.
