Debbie Toms is Chief of Staff at CuspAI, the frontier AI company reimagining how the world discovers and develops new materials, from carbon capture and water purification to sustainable energy and high performance semiconductors. 

Debbie leads a range of functions including operations and finance, and joined before the company was incorporated. She is part of the senior leadership team alongside co-founders Dr Chad Edwards and Professor Max Welling.

In less than two years, CuspAI has raised $200M in funding from leading firms including New Enterprise Associates, Temasek, NVIDIA’s N Ventures, Hyundai Motor Group and Samsung Ventures. Its publicly-announced partners include Hyundai, Meta and Kemira. 

Debbie holds a Law degree from Southampton University and is a qualified accountant (ACCA) and tax advisor (CTA). She began her career at Deloitte and later served as Finance Director at Marshall Land Systems, overseeing global operations. She is based at CuspAI’s Cambridge HQ.
