Chang Liu is the founder, CEO, and chief designer at Extend Robotics, a company that creates innovative and practical robotic solutions for challenging environments. With over four years of experience in leading and developing cutting-edge robotic products, he has a strong background in robotics, microcontrollers, and electronic engineering.

He holds a PhD in visual control of small remotely piloted aircraft in GPS-denied environments from the University of Southampton, where he integrated real-time computer vision techniques, such as SLAM, optical flow, and 3D reconstruction, into the multirotor control loop. He has also worked as a research associate at Imperial College London, focusing on aerial robotics for autonomous offshore inspection, and as the head of robotics at Inkonova AB, developing the Batonomous system using multibeam lidar for underground mine navigation. He has published in multiple international journals and conferences, and has a passion for applying his research and skills to solve real-world problems
