Glen Waters

Head of the EMEA Early Stage Practice team at HSBC Innovation Banking UK. Based in London, Glen works with tech and life science entrepreneurs to help increase their chance of success, support their scale and growth and connecting them to investors and other professionals in the innovation ecosystem.

Prior to joining SVB, Glen founded and led the PwC Raise Ventures proposition, which helped high-growth startups raise Seed, Series A and Series B equity funding of between £1 million-£30 million. He also spent 10+ years working in mid-market M&A and financial due diligence at PwC and was on the steering committee member on PwC’s Future Fund team, that helped set up the government’s £1.1bn scheme to support 1,100 high growth businesses as part of their Covid-19 response.

Glen has been a CFO and board advisor to many early-stage businesses, which has given him a deep understanding of how businesses scale and grow.

Glen is a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Charted Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and has a 1st class bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Manchester. Outside of work, Glen has two young children who keep him busy, enjoys traveling and sports.
