Anne Keast-Butler

Anne Keast-Butler is the Director of GCHQ, the UK’s intelligence, cyber and security agency. Prior to her appointment, Anne was Deputy Director General MI5, responsible for all operational, investigative and protective security work.
Throughout her 30-year career in national security, Anne has championed diversity and inclusion and is a vocal advocate for women in technical roles, STEM careers and in the power of neurodiversity too – the right mix of minds being critical for our national security.
In 2025 Anne was named in the top 10 most influential people in UK technology by Computer Weekly.
