Alex is the Chief Product & Technology Officer at Genomics, pioneers in the application of genomics data and analytics to drug discovery and development. Applying both supervised and unsupervised machine learning to large scale genetic data sets, Genomics has amassed over the last decade the largest harmonised genetic association database which it uses to help life science companies in target discovery and development, and in preventative translational medicine to inform patients of their polygenic and integrated risk of multiple conditions. Alex previously founded and exited several of her own data-driven health tech businesses, and grappled big healthcare data problems when developing and commercialising the largest phenomic healthcare dataset in the UK while at EMIS Group Plc (now part of United Health Group). Alex is passionate about the better use of data across industry, and reducing the gap between what the science has proven is possible and what is part of routine care.
