Alia Zafar

Alia Zafar is an HR executive and presently serving the Bank of Punjab, Pakistan as Group Head, People & Organizational Excellence Group. She has also been member of the Board of Governors of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). She was the first independent female, to be appointed in PCB as member of the Board of Governors.

She has also been a member of Civil Services of Pakistan where she was trained in the Income Tax Group with a background in Strategic Planning and Management.

She was recognized as “HR professional of the year 2012” at the Asia-Pacific HR Congress and with 27 years’ of diverse experience in public , corporate and development sectors including Energy, oil & Gas , Banking , Finance, health , Telecoms & Technology.

She is a certified Director from ICAP and certified Hay Methodology expert on job analysis; her areas of expertise are diverse and include Governance, public financial management and organizational / digital transformation.

She is a keynote speaker on digital transformation, on Leadership and management skills. She has co-authored the book "HR Directory of Terms", a member of ISO 260 task groups, as well as a member of Governing council of Pakistan chapter SHRM.

She is the Director outreach and policy for TaahJee Foundation a voluntary social program for education and youth engagement and winner of the highly esteemed Soraya salti scholarship for social entrepreneurship.

She has worked as a Human Resources professional in various Banks as well as the hospitality sector. Her experience includes HR Group Head The Bank Of Punjab, Pakistan, HR Country Head Askari Bank, Pakistan, HR lead expert with Crown agents America, UNDP and USAID in variety of corporate sectors, including Agha Khan Foundation in four continents. She is an HR specialist with experience in capacity building, corporate governance, organizational design and performance evaluation.

Alia holds a Masters in Business Administration and Master in Arts in English Literature from University of the Punjab. She also holds a certification in Human resources from NUST business School, as well as a diploma and certification in learning, innovation and social entrepreneurship from Germany and INSEAD France.
