Gardar Stefansson, CEO of Rapyd Europe, has been at the forefront in the payments industry in Europe since 2007. Upon finishing his business degree Gardar took on his first role in the payments industry as a sales and business development manager for Borgun, an Icelandic based acquiring and issuing company, establishing the presence of the company’s capabilities throughout Europe. He later moved to the position of CEO of Korta where he led the sale of the company into Rapyd that later acquired Valitor, an acquiring and issuing company. Gardar has lived and breathed the payments industry for over 15 years, leading companies through technical transformation as well as intense changes in the regulatory environment and globalization of moving money. As the CEO of Rapyd Europe, Gardar leads both Collect and Issuing business units at Rapyd, he is now driving a global payment processing platform that enables the acceptance of cards and hundreds of local payment methods in 100+ countries. His vision is to make FasS accessible and easy to use for everyone across the globe.
