Simon Beckerman
From Milan, the heart of fashion, Simon Beckerman has successfully established a number of businesses. In 1998, Simon and his brother Daniel co-founded a creative agency focused on web design and branding. Expanding their horizons in 2001, they launched People In Groove (PIG), a magazine covering fashion, music, and lifestyle, which soon became the essential resource for the Italian fashion world.
In 2007, the Beckerman brothers introduced Retrosuperfuture, a sunglasses brand that quickly gained popularity as a must-have accessory. Garnering endorsements from international celebrities like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Rihanna, David Beckham, Kanye West, and Daft Punk, the brand achieved remarkable success.
In 2011, Simon independently founded Depop, a mobile social marketplace designed for the younger audiences. Catering to those aged 14 to 25, Depop has emerged as a leading platform for the next generation. Headquartered in London, Depop has raised $100 million in funding and employs a 400-strong team across offices in New York, Sydney, and Manchester. With a community exceeding 45 million users, Depop was recently acquired by Etsy.
In 2021, Simon embarked on a new venture, founding DELLI, a marketplace that connects creative, independent food producers with discerning consumers. Having received investments from HV Capital in Germany and Balderton Capital in London, DELLI is currently in its soft launch phase in London.
