Powering the Future: AI and Economic Growth within the Digital Ecosystem

Indonesia reached a major milestone with the publication of its AI National Roadmap White Paper, positioning AI as a key driver of economic transformation under the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. With its digital economy projected to exceed USD 135 billion in 2026 and AI expected to contribute USD 366 billion to GDP by 2030, Indonesia is emerging as a leading AI economy in Asia.

Under the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Indonesia is advancing Sovereign AI through initiatives such as the Sahabat-AI ecosystem, which provides localized LLM capabilities tailored to the country's linguistic and cultural diversity. This human-centric approach aims to improve public services and strengthen industrial competitiveness.

At the same time, the UK continues to lead globally in AI ethics, governance, and innovation. The partnership between Indonesia's scale and growth and the UK's expertise creates strong opportunities for collaboration on ethical and inclusive AI development.

The Embassy of Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with Ministry ofCommunication and Digital Affairs Republic of Indonesia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Indonesia and British Embassy Jakarta, will take part in the Indonesia-UK Digital Dialogue during London Tech Week 2026, alongside policymakers, investors, and innovation leaders to discuss cooperation on sovereign AI infrastructure, talent development, and digital investment. A panel discussion on workforce transformation will follow, exploring how Indonesia can equip its workforce and next-generation talent to thrive in an AI-driven economy.
