Greenprint for Growth: Scaling Farm Innovation to Protect Food Security

Did you know British farms are using drones in the fight against climate change – helping them spot from the air where irrigation or fertiliser might be needed?

How do we move from piloting promising agri-tech innovations like this to scaling their mass adoption to safeguard Britain’s food security?

As geopolitical events and climate shocks continue to disrupt global food supply chains, innovation and emerging tech will be crucial in ensuring we can continue to find ways to deliver a reliable supply of fresh, quality food.

British agriculture is at the forefront of this transformation, pioneering new practices, processes and technology that will help protect the shopping basket in the years to come. Support for the sector to expand and ramp up this innovation has the power to not only secure our supply chain, but power growth and productivity, too.

The session will bring together Tesco and a Tesco supplier. Drawing on their experiences of working together on Tesco’s first ever Low Carbon Concept Farm, they will explore what it takes to deliver agri-innovation at farm level and how collaboration across the value chain can accelerate progress.
